ICO record fine for British Airways

It seems that the ICO will use it’s new powers to levy very heavy fines, far in excess of the previous £1/2 Million limit under the old regime.  BA seems to have been guilty of failings in their technical and organisational measures and even basic encryption were not used.  And in fact, as the You talk insurance article points out, the fine could have been up to 4% of BA turnover.

It is not too late to improve your own protections in house, and clearly this is something which all businesses need to be looking at as fines could be crippling, or even business ending, if you don’t get it right.
